A few facts about me, in no particular order:
I (she/her) am a portrait and family photographer based in Columbus, Ohio.
I was introduced to photography when my grandma gifted me my first camera (the Fisher Price 3815 Kids 110 Film Camera) at the age of five and was immediately drawn to photography as a means of preserving memories. I have been documenting my life through a lens and viewfinder ever since.
Although photography was always a passion and creative outlet, it wasn’t until moving to Columbus with my husband in 2019 that I decided to take the leap and pursue photography as my career. I am SO glad I did! I love getting to know my clients, hearing their stories, and capturing photos that reflect their authentic and beautiful selves.
I am originally from Kansas City. Born on the Missouri side, raised (mostly) on the Kansas side. The distinction matters.
I’m an extroverted introvert. I thrive when getting to know people one-on-one and in small group settings, but definitely need my personal quiet time to feel recharged.
I love to laugh loud and often. People usually find it endearing, but small children occasionally ask me why I laugh so much.
I enjoy watching musicals, playing board games with friends, and video chatting with my adorable nephew.
I have a thing for polka dots, rubber ducks, and ice cream (even though I’m lactose intolerant).
My formal training is in education with a bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Kansas. I taught English as a Second Language for several years to adults ages 18 to 87 and loved every minute of it.
Singing is another passion. I grew up singing in choirs and was the lead singer of an amateur folk band in college. These days I channel my prowess by belting songs on road trips and when getting your dog to look at the camera while shooting.
Now that you know a little bit about me, I am ready to learn about you! I believe that the best images are born through collaboration and I am excited to connect with you and hear your ideas. Am I the right photographer for you? Do you have a question for me?
